Our hotel in the 9th arrondissement
puts Paris and its tourist sites at your feet!
Our hotel in the 9th arrondissement of Paris is ideal for visiting Montmartre, a village-like district with an authentic charm that is famed for the Sacré-Coeur Basilica and its magnificent views over Paris. From the Opéra Cadet, it’ll only take you 20 minutes on foot to get to the area and 10 minutes by metro from the Notre Dame de Lorette station to Abbesses.
Once there, you’ll be able to discover the famous Place du Tertre and the world-famous “carré aux artistes” (artists’ corner). Artists and portraitists welcome visitors year round in a relaxed environment. Wherever you turn, you’ll find sellers of postcards and posters of the black cat logo of the Chat Noir (legendary cabaret in Montmartre) and the Moulin Rouge.
After visiting the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, a religious edifice in a Roman-Byzantine style and an icon of Paris, or one of the temporary exhibitions at the Musée de Montmartre, wander down the more tranquil streets. Walk down the Rue Norvins and the almost country-like Rue des Saules without traffic. You’ll pass Montmartre’s famous vineyard, whose harvest is the occasion for celebration each Autumn before arriving at the Lapin Agile cabaret. This small pink house hidden by an old acacia has been immortalised by the painter Maurice Utrillo who is buried right nearby in the Saint Vincent cemetery. Also buried here is the artist Eugène Boudin.
After this enchanting visit up the hill, what could be better than a well-deserved rest on the veranda or in the garden of the hotel.
