What's on in Paris

At the Jeu de Paume, with the exhibition « Ai Weiwei: Entrelacs », from February 21 to April 29 2012, Paris celebrates an extraordinary Chinese artist, exhibiting in France for the very first time. Simultaneously photographer, architect, sculptor and blogger, Ai Weiwei is definitely provocative, but also profoundly human! Absolutely worth a visit!
He started by photographing the world around him. After New York, and starting from 1993, Ai Weiwei starts illustrating Beijing.  This is where his films reveal the accelerated development and he zooms in on the contradictions of his home country, China. Very quickly, Ai Weiwei is recognised as being a major artist and even though he puts on many artistic hats, he keeps a radically polemic observing attitude towards modern society.
With «  Ai Weiwei: Entrelacs », you’ll discover his prolix photographic work in Paris. His visual world, establishing ties beyond borders and ideological divides, creates a real framework of influences to describe the world, his world. Ai Weiwei, as an analyst of social transformations, exposes the incredible new urban setting of China to the public, in an esthetical, digital yet atmospheric way. http://www.jeudepaume.org/
